Summary

IQuESt: The Center for Innovations in Quality, Effectiveness and Safety, is seeking a research coordinator I to join our team at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. As the largest center for Health Services Research in the Southwest, our mission is to improve health and well-being through innovations in health care delivery. The project focuses on prospective clinical data collection from Gulf War Veterans with a goal of demonstrating feasibility of assessing neuronal inflammation from peripheral extracellular vesicles. The selected candidate will be an enthusiastic, detail-oriented individual who is passionate about improving the lives of veterans suffering the consequences of military exposures.

Job Duties

  • Contribute to all aspects of a clinical research portfolio, including, but not limited to, protocol implementation; literature review and synthesis; design and implementation of recruitment and field procedures: collection, coding, analysis and synthesis of data; preparation of project reports, manuscripts and grant/contract proposals.
  • Contribute to the development and application of surveys, semi-structured interviews, and other data collection tools used to collect and analyze clinical research data.
  • Conduct quantitative clinical and neuropsychological research data collection, including interviews with patient participants.

Other duties included: 

  • Protocol policy and procedure development and documentation (10%)
  • Outreach, recruitment, screening and scheduling of potential participants (20%)
  • Consenting, enrollment, data collection and follow up (20%)
  • Data management, cleaning and analysis (10%)
  • Ensure regulatory compliance (10%)
  • Synthesis, write up and dissemination of results (20%)
  • Preparation for future grant proposal submission (10%)

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
