Position Summary

The Sr. Financial Analyst will provide day-to day financial and analytical support for Foundation Finance monthly reporting, ad hoc analysis, process automation, budgeting, and forecasting. S/he will play an integral role is supporting the Lead Financial Analyst in producing, improving, and redesigning existing processes to facilitate efficient and timely reporting to Foundation stakeholders. The incumbent will work cross-functionally with Foundation Operating leaders, Foundation Finance, Accounting, and other key IT stakeholders to help facilitate team goals. Sr. Financial Analyst will report into Sr. Manager Foundation Finance.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee and assist with monthly financial close process between Finance, Accounting, IT to ensure all reporting is executed in a timely manner
  • Create and maintain Income Statement and other key monthly reporting for Monthly Operating Review
  • Build out and maintain budgeting, forecasting, and reporting system driven solutions in COGNOS or Companywide ERP tool
  • Create and maintain automated processes around reporting and analysis to facilitate variance analysis, insight generation, and operational decision making
  • Build and maintain complex financial models that utilize advanced excel formulas and macros using VBA and SQL
  • Build and maintain dashboards for operational decision making for business partners in Tableau
  • Follows established City of Hope and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines, including adherence to the workplace Code of Conduct and Compliance Plan. Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements
  • Five years of relevant work experience
  • Training/experience in the use of personal computer spreadsheet graphics and database applications

Preferred education experience and skills:

  • MBA
  • Related field of Business with an understanding of P&L management and dashboarding
  • SQL & Tableau experience
