Job Description

Summary

The technician will learn and perform the cutting edge single cell spatial profiling under the supervision of postdoc and senior graduate student.  The goal is to construct the spatial cell atlas of the human eye, a part of the human cell atlas project.  In addition, the technician will apply the technology on disease samples to probe difference between healthy and diseased tissue at single cell resolution. The duty involves in performing QC of tissue sample, performing tissue section and histology, preparing the sample for MERFISH profiling.  In addition, the technician will assist postdoc and senior graduate student in their molecular and histology experiments.

Job Duties

  • Learns and performs the cutting edge single cell spatial profiling under the supervision of postdoc and senior graduate student. 
  • Constructs the spatial cell atlas of the human eye, a part of the human cell atlas project.
  • Applies the technology on disease samples to probe difference between healthy and diseased tissue at single cell resolution.
  • Performs QC of tissue sample, performs tissue section and histology, prepares the sample for MERFISH profiling. 
  • Assists postdoc and senior graduate student in their molecular and histology experiments.
  • Takes detailed lab note and helps on routine instrument maintenance and mouse colony management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS degree in biology science related field.
  • One year research experiences in molecular biology and mice or human histology.
