Job Description

Harrisburg University of Science and Technology is seeking a Database Administrator The Database Administrator is primarily responsible for administering Harrisburg University’s databases and ERP systems. The successful candidate will be working closely with the SQL Server and Student Information Systems. Experience in SQL Scripting, C#, PowerShell and data management are required, and candidates may be asked to demonstrate proficiency during the interview process. Experience in Microsoft Azure, Power BI and SDLC are a plus. Organization, innovation, attention to detail, and a customer service focus will be the hallmarks of the successful candidate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties may vary and other duties may be assigned):

Identify and resolve basic and routine data issues, enforce database-use guidelines, and verify solution accuracy
Serve as a point of contact for projects involving database systems and procedures, including the facilitation of related project planning
Work independently and collaboratively to support internal end users, helping to define their requirements, implementing them, and providing ongoing trainings
Maintain and update current SQL scripts, C# and Power BI per application requirements
Troubleshoot PowerShell scripting
Identify and develop data integration solutions involving API calls and other methods
Develop, document, and execute server performance monitoring processes
Adhere to data standards, data access and security best practices in all University activities
Work independently on assigned Help desk tickets
Develop SQL stored procedures and tables structures per user requirements
Ability to utilize git for source/version control
Developing on premise and cloud based solutions (eg. Azure and PowerApps)


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

B.S. in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field plus minimum of 3 years working in related field
Requires mostly day work with some flexibility for infrequent evenings or weekends
Clear communicator, highly organized and detailed with strong troubleshooting ability
Reliable work ethic and focus with ability to multi-task
Office 365, PowerShell, C#, Scripting, and SQL experience
Process documentation and testing regiment design and application across platforms
Experience with helpdesk systems
