Position Summary

The Senior Coordinator, Leadership Deployment will serve as a member of the Donor Experience team. The Senior Coordinator will report to the SDOD, Leadership Deployment and work closely with colleagues across the Donor Experience, Philanthropy Marketing Communications, and Transformative Philanthropy and Campaign Communications teams, as well as with gift officers cultivating relationships with individual and corporate donors. The Senior Coordinator will serve as a champion for donor centered, one City of Hope focused fundraising across the Office of Philanthropy.

Key Responsibilities include:

Writing

  • Craft highly customized, donor-driven communications on behalf of executive leadership, specifically acknowledgment and condolence letters and personalized notes.
  • Work collaboratively with fundraisers and conduct research needed to inform letter customization.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the various steps in the acknowledgment and condolence process run smoothly.
  • Serve as a reviewer of leadership letters drafted by fellow team members before they are forwarded to the appropriate leadership for final review and approval.

Infrastructure

  • Serve as a representative and resource to Office of Philanthropy on all aspects of Leadership Deployment.
  • Keep Leadership Deployment Resource pages updated, initiate improvements.
  • Provide training for Office of Philanthropy colleagues on acknowledgements and condolences process.
  • Provide training for OOP colleagues on Leadership Deployment standard operating procedures.
  • Provide backup support for Leadership Deployment team members during heavy workflow periods.
  • Serve as a resource to the Donor Experience team with other duties as assigned.
  • Provide high level of customer service to Office of Philanthropy colleagues and EA's in support of requesting, scheduling and preparing ELT members’ participation.
  • Participate in special/campaign projects as requested.

Office of Philanthropy Role Model

  • Act as spokesperson for City of Hope activities, as requested.
  • Participate in meetings, search committees, task forces, and other special projects.
  • Maintains a positive image when dealing with executive staff, donors, prospects, fundraisers and other City of Hope employees.
  • Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.

Follows established City of Hope and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines, including adherence to the workplace Code of Conduct and Compliance Plan. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, accounting, or business administration or other related field. Experience may substitute for subject area requirements.
  • 5+ years of administrative experience with exposure to fundraising and non-profit systems. Experience in a complex medical or academic development setting encouraged.

Preferred education experience and skills:

  • Strong understanding of the issues, nuances and needs of research, teaching and clinical operations in a complex health sciences research and/or university environment.
