We are looking to add a full time Clinical Audiologist to our dedicated team of caregivers. As an Audiologist, you will be providing the highest quality of care to our patients of all ages, including infants and children. Your duties will include but are not limited to:
• Performing diagnostic audiological test procedures to evaluate patient's hearing status.
• Assisting with planning, budget, service and project development.
• Performing hearing aid checks and minor repairs of hearing aids.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivers audiologist services to patients complaining of hearing or balance disorders.
  • Performs diagnostic testing to determine the nature and extent of hearing impairment.
  • Performs electronystagmography to obtain information about the condition of the vestibular system.
  • Performs hearing aid evaluations.
  • Dispenses hearing aids and assistive listening devices.
  • Counsels patients regarding their hearing impairment and informs them of available treatment options.
  • Performs real ear testing to verify hearing aids are providing appropriate amplification.
  • Provides information concerning available material and related community services.
  • Maintains complete and up-to-date documentation and files at all times, including product and service quotes.
  • Maintains patient, medical record, department and employee confidentiality at all times.
  • Maintains communication with physicians, nurses, and other departments.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of infection control practices.
  • Follows Code Blue protocol as per CCF policy.
  • Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Master's in Audiology and Speech Pathology.
  • Acquired adequate knowledge of CCF's policies and procedure.

Certifications:

  • Must be eligible for a Florida Speech and Hearing Professionals Board license to practice audiology upon hire.
  • Must hold Florida Speech and Hearing Professionals Board license to practice audiology upon start date.

Work Experience:

  • Completion of fellowship year and supervision by Head Audiologist is recommended to perform the job responsibilities satisfactory.
  • Four weeks of on-the-job training should be sufficient to reach adequate performance of the duties.

Physical Requirements:

  • Essential Duties:  In collaboration with a licensed physician, this position requires evaluating the health status of selected patients, provides therapy and education to patients and their families.  Performs diagnostic and clinical research studies according to accepted standards of care per CCF policy.
  •  Physical Duties:  This position requires frequent walking, sitting, and standing.  Frequent talking and listening when giving instructions and explanations.  Frequent use of the phone, fax machines, and computer.  
  • Working Conditions:  The majority of time the employee spends indoors in air-conditioned areas.  Potential for exposure to blood and blood borne pathogens is significant.  Clinical exposure to patients requires the use of personal protective equipment.  Local travel with own transportation required.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Use of gloves required if in contact with any body fluid.
  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
