Faculty Position: Transfusion Medicine/Blood Bank Pathologist
The H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute is seeking a successful candidate, MD or MD/Ph.D. degree, to join an existing team of Transfusion Medicine faculty in the Department of Pathology. The appointment will be at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Senior Member in the Hematopathology and Laboratory Medicine section of the Department of Pathology. Expertise in another clinical pathology subspecialty, especially Microbiology or Chemistry, is highly desirable. Candidates must have current boards and/or Maintenance of Certification in AP/CP or CP. Applicants must be board certified or board eligible in Transfusion Medicine/Blood Bank. As a faculty member of the Transfusion Medicine/Blood Bank service, you will be involved in daily operations, clinical consult care, and direct related education for faculty, trainees and staff. With Moffitt’s focus on oncology care, we encourage collaborations with our clinical and research teams in Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapies. Opportunities to participate in the apheresis service and HLA laboratory, or to provide coagulation consultations exist.
An established clinical or translational research focus is highly desirable, and preference will be given to candidates with a record of research collaboration. Experience in an academic multi-disciplinary university clinical setting is preferred. Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Florida is required.
