Job Description

Position Summary
The School of Nursing of Indiana University South Bend, within the Vera Z. Dwyer College of Health Sciences, invites applications for a full-time, ten- month, clinical (non-tenure track) faculty position beginning August 1, 2023. The School of Nursing offers a traditional BSN program, mobility option RN to BSN program, and three MSN tracks (Family Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Educator, and Nursing Administration).

A typical full-time nursing faculty teaching assignment requires in-person teaching, class preparation, grading, providing academic support to students, and engaging in service to the school, college, university, and community. Additional responsibilities include assistance with clinical simulation and may include development of new courses, and/or development of new degree programs.

The primary focus of this position is teaching an adult medical surgical lecture and clinical in the traditional BSN program. Other BSN courses will be assigned to match the candidate’s experience and expertise.

Engagement in service to the school, college, university, and community.

Any faculty member may be required to teach online, on alternate schedules (evenings/weekends), and/or at our campus center in Elkhart.

Basic Qualifications
An earned master’s degree in nursing is required.
Candidate must have or be eligible to hold a current RN license in Indiana.
A minimum of three to five years previous clinical nursing experience in an adult medical surgical bedside nursing role is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Prior clinical teaching experience is preferred.
Successful candidates will demonstrate skills in teaching, communication, collaboration, and organization.
Previous academic teaching experience is highly desired.
