What You Will Achieve

Your technical skills will help us develop and support robust softwares for our business. Due to your expertise, you will  develop program logic for new applications and modify existing ones. You will support a range of activities, such as coding, testing, debugging, documentation, implementation and maintenance of software applications for Pfizer.

As a Senior Manager, your advanced knowledge of the principles and concepts in the discipline and comprehensive knowledge of other disciplines will enable you to lead complex projects across the division. Your ability to develop and manage plans will facilitate in achieving objectives, interpreting internal and external business challenges and recommending best practices for improvements. While managing complex project environments, you will be able to anticipate and troubleshoot roadblocks and influence teams to achieve targets for the division.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Develop ideas and lead projects across subdivision and manage plans to achieve objectives.
  • Use knowledge of industry, customer requirements and general business environment to enable delivery of projects and programs, leveraging both standard commercial roadmap patterns as well as innovative technologies across a range of systems disciplines.
  • Responsible for the creation of technical designs and implementation plans.
  • Well versed in agile principles and able to lead software engineers in this area.
  • Set technical objectives for and manage one or more scrum teams with ongoing work activities across all commercial business units within a product grouping and portfolio of projects.
  • Responsible for release management of related platforms.
  • Work with the infrastructure and shared service organizations to procure and manage stable application platforms.
  • Manage budgets and resources to meet goals across multiple projects.
  • Establish relationships with customers and members of the project delivery team and liaises between our customers and technical members of the project team.
  • Work in a matrixed team environment with Pfizer colleagues as well as vendor partners by participating in vendor management activities.
  • Embed Continuous Improvement and automation into daily work and develop a DevOps culture in the team.
  • Lead a high performing DevOps oriented team delivering critical and complex components in Sales force and Veeva aligned to our roadmap, vision, strategy & business needs.
  • Work alongside other platform, projects and product teams, ensuring their technical deliverables on the Salesforce.com / Veeva platform meet all applicable standards on application design, testing, quality and security
  • Understand the needs of the business and be able to successfully translate this knowledge into day to day decision-making
  • Ensure that the correct design and engineering decisions are made for the platform.
  • Share knowledge and make decisions based on multiple inputs across the wider team and BU.

  • Responsible for skills management of all technical resources in the team, ensuring the talent pool is appropriate for current and future needs.

  • Responsible for the management and development of continuous integration, release management, code quality and deployment capability for production applications across the platform ecosystem.

  • Be a champion of innovation within the immediate and wider team, developing resources & processes to adopt innovating thinking and approach to problems.

  • Embrace a DevOps mentality and ensure the model’s success, building a culture of shared responsibility and  transparency leading to higher quality and far quicker delivery of output. Take part in the culture of measurement, learning and feedback.

  • Establish close partnerships with relevant Engineering and Operations colleagues to ensure alignment in all areas of development strategy, process, operational needs, DevOps culture and other areas relevant to excellence in the asset lifecycle of assets in the portfolio.

  • Use industry best practice and your own experience to ensure that security is baked in from the beginning and that the team fully embrace a DevSecOps and shift-lefton security mentality.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 7+ years’ experience
  • Minimum of 3 years recognized experience with Salesforce.com & Veeva (Custom and Lightning development preferred) with deep and broad experience working with Salesforce.com at enterprise scale.

  • Demonstrated experience as an information technology professional in roles such as a software developer, technical project manager
  • Proven experience working with business teams developing and delivering strategy and operating plans with demonstrated competency in strategic thinking, and relationship management
  • Experience managing teams of contract or colleague resources
  • Ability to take a systematic approach to estimation of technical project
  • Exhibits a high level of business knowledge and understanding of the external marketplace and anticipates business line or sub-function customer requirements
  • Ability to lead in a complex, matrix environment with geographically distributed resources
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish relationships, influence outcomes, and deliver effective presentations to a variety of audiences
  • Detailed understanding of the technical landscape, both inside and outside of Pfizer
  • Proven subject matter expertise in multiple of our foundational technologies/areas including Salesforce.com, Veeva CRM, Veeva Vault, Copado
  • Detail oriented, persistent, strong desire to produce quality applications focused on user experience
  • Experience with Atlassian (Jira, Confluence), GitHub, Amazon Web Services, Mulesoft/CloudHub, Salesforce, Redshift/MySQL, Veeva CRM, Veeva Vault, Veeva Medical
  • Ability to lead as well as influence and evangelize standards and practices in a complex, matrix environment with geographically distributed resources.

  • Ability to take a systematic approach to estimation of technical projects.

Nice-to-Have

  • Master's degree
  • Relevant pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Proven progressive experience as an Information Technology  professional, preferably in a pharmaceutical industry
  • Knowledge of system integrations
  • Experience in legal technology space
