Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Business Excellence Leader the primary role of the Operational and Organizational Effectiveness Leader is to advance the site strategies relating to Processes and Systems with a strong alignment with the IMEx mindsets & behaviors and Digital Transformation.

This role will work closely with the Tuas Site Leadership Team (SLT) and Extended Leadership Team (ELT) and will be committed to implementing and sustaining coaching and supportive leadership models that creates a culture of accountability and ownership.

The role will work be responsible for:

  • Sitewide goals alignment
  • Change governance
  • Performance Improvement initiatives
  • Process Centric Team (PCT) effectiveness & coaching

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
     

    Key focus areas for delivery of the Operational and Organizational Effectiveness Leader role are:

    Sitewide goals alignment

  • Manage the process of setting up targets for the site Balanced Score Card (BSC) as well tracking and driving performance improvements in the BSC
  • Establish long term goals for continuous improvement at Tier 3 aligned to T4 and above. Cascade To all Tier 1&2
  • Change governance

  • As a site change lead Transformation and managing change (tier 1&2)
  • Provide support and/or lead strategic projects
  • Ownership of site PMO or T3 CI as a process, working with Transition PMO
  • Play an active role in supporting the Change Strategy throughout and after deployment (e.g. communications, coaching colleagues through the transition, etc.) to help sustain the change
  • Ensure the case for change is defined including the following: what is changing, reason for the change, business impact of not changing and site organizational expectations
  • Change Strategy activities (e.g. communication, coaching and training plans) are identified and phased to support the deployment plan for the change being pursued
  • Metrics supporting the adoption of the change are visible and utilized for long term sustainment (e.g. structured Gemba).
  • Performance improvement initiatives

  • Stay up to date on the understanding of world class performance benchmark and align site short term and long-term improvement goals to progress toward best-in-class level for all aspects of business
  • Maintain oversight of T3 CI goals, project selection and execution
  • Drive process simplification, Manufacturing Cycle Time improvements and iFlow
  • Align with Network Design & Performance for the overall improvement program
  • PCT effectiveness & coaching

  • Ensure that effective coaching & mentoring programs are in place and that coaching, and feedback occurs across all levels of the site aligned to the IMEx ecosystems and Servant-Leader models
  • Establish team norms to maximise team performance.
  • Facilitate the Team Effectiveness process, including the development, implementation and ensuring adherence to the Team Effectiveness process.
  • Act as team facilitator as required. Understand and modulates team dynamics, to maximise output and foster creativity and innovation.
  • Support leaders apply coaching mindsets and behaviors to build colleague capabilities to problem solve issues within their control and communicate when support is needed.
  • Promote coaching and the supportive leadership model to create a culture of accountability and ownership that is both expected and supported. In this culture colleagues closest to the work are empowered and capable to effectively own and improve their processes.

    EDUCATION
    Bachelor’s Degree in science or Human Resources related field

    EXPERIENCE
     

    Ten years relevant experience in the pharmaceutical or similar industries including team dynamics or related experience.

    • This position calls for excellent technical, organizational, communication and leadership skills, and requires the Operational and Organizational Effectiveness Leader to perform with confidence in what will be a consistently dynamic environment.

    • It is expected that the successful candidate will be qualified to degree level in an appropriate discipline.

    • Given the focus on leadership of continuous improvement in this position, Greenbelt qualification in both Six Sigma and Lean would be desirable as well as demonstrated knowledge of GMPs, and Operational excellence tools, compliance issues, inspectional trends, industry quality assurance practices and systems.
