Job Description
Position Highlights:
This position supports members of Patient Support Services in the delivery of services to patients and families by carrying out a range of office functions. These include but are not limited to coordinating the functions of the Patient Support Services Main Office, answering phones; connecting patients and caregivers to the correct Social Worker; ordering supplies for team members and events sponsored by Patient Support Services, coordination of consults for Social Work and alerts team members when a high acuity consult is received. Position is responsible for updating coverage calendar daily as well as Smart Web; provides coverage support to the Lodging Coordinator and assistance to Disability team if needed.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Familiarity with office organization protocols and procedures
- High level of problem-solving skills, ability to multitask, pay close attention to detail and strong communication skills and interpersonal effectiveness required
- Familiarity with medical and business terminology, software programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required, and data processing exposure preferred
Responsibilities:
- Answers phones, responds to emails, directing inquiries to appropriate resources within Patient Support Services as well as Moffitt Cancer Center.
- Assist when needed Patient Support Specialists in responding to inquiries regarding disability claims, patient financial support applications and monitoring status of both.
- Orders supplies and ensures forms, special project items; back packs and legacy kits are available.
- Maintains daily coverage calendar for all teams within Patient Support Services.
- Receive patients, families, vendors and visitors to central office.
- Provide support for special projects within Patient Support Services.
Credentials and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Associate’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum three years clerical experience in a health care environment.
- Familiarity with medical and business terminology, software programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required, and data processing preferred.
