Position Summary

The Vice President Product Development and Innovation serves as the lead to design and deliver supportive care solutions to patients nationally. This person will direct the digital product development strategy and management functions associated with “Supportive Care Everywhere” (SCE) for City of Hope.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • The VP Product Development and Innovation serves as the lead to design and deliver supportive care solutions to patients nationally. This person will direct the digital product development strategy and management functions associated with “Supportive Care Everywhere” (SCE) for City of Hope.
  • Develop a product roadmap for SCE that defines unmet needs, delivers an MVP, addresses the needs of users and customers, and drives engagement and behavior change for patients and caregivers.
  • Identify needs for user and customer segments (payers, employers, providers, patients & caregivers) and the product features that drive meaningful engagement, utilization, & behavior change.
  • Develop value propositions for user and customer archetypes, with the ability to prioritize user needs and target customers for the MVP, and subsequent iterations.
  • Define SCE’s competitive positioning, incorporating inputs from clinical experts, external advisors, as well as feedback from the user experience, and customers.
  • Lead go-to market initiatives for the SCE digital platform, including segmentation, positioning, pricing, product functionality and features, sales enablement, adoption, and continuous improvement; consider regulatory factors and potential barriers or speed bumps to market entry.
  • Manage product development and market implementation, including price, features, placement, promotion, and profit.
  • Establish an operating model for the ongoing management and implementation of the SCE solution in the market, including account management and user experience.
  • Develop metrics and analysis for product performance, segment penetration, customer behavioral profiles and competitive product and program assessment(s) to identify gaps and opportunities.
  • Oversee product development efforts to ensure alignment with the overall organizational strategy and objectives, while also recognizing the need to build a minimum viable product (MVP).
  • Ensure metrics are in place to monitor the outcomes, benefits, and experience of the solution set—for users and customers.
  • Develop and manage detailed financial plans, including product investments, benefits realization, and pricing strategy.
  • Follows established organization and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, adherence to the workplace Code of Conduct and Compliance requirements.
  • Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Five or more years of digital product development and management experience within the consumer, clinical or healthcare sectors. Experience developing clinical products capable of being sold to consumers, payers, providers, and/or large employer groups.
  • 7 years of experience in a leadership capacity

Preferred education experience and skills:

  • MBA or other advanced degree

Additional Information:

  • Successful candidate can work hybrid.
  • Estimated Pay Scale: $241,560.99 - $322,081.00
  • As a condition of employment, City of Hope requires staff to comply with all state and federal vaccination mandates.

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
