Echocardiography Technician II-Per Diem

We are seeking a Echocardiography Technician II! Our Echo Tech II uses high frequency sound waves (ultrasound), and other noninvasive echocardiography testing equipment to produce images of the heart. These procedures require specialized knowledge and skills in support of the provision of diagnostic and/or therapeutic services to specified patient population.

As a successful candidate, you will: 

  • Perform Echocardiogram, carotid and peripheral vascular studies, use non-invasive procedure, to examine heart valves, chambers, and blood vessels to produce images.
  • Evaluate the various valves and chambers of the heart and makes appropriate measurements.
  • Perform imaging and non-imaging cardiovascular evaluations which may include exercise tolerance tests, electrocardiograms, stress tests, and transesophageal echocardiography.
  • Obtain patient history, explains procedure to patient, addresses patients’ concerns, and follows established pre-screening.
  • Determine appropriate methodology and techniques to use: arrange immobilization and/or support devices for proper patient positioning: selects appropriate imaging device
  • Recognize potentially serious conditions (e.g., pericardial effusion, intracardiac tumor, thrombi, etc) and brings it to the attention of the physician.
  • Maintain echocardiography and other equipment in efficient operating order; may perform minor preventative maintenance; contacts outside service for major malfunctions.
  • Maintain inventory control, storage, and routing of supplies.

Your qualifications should include:  

Minimum Education:

  • Associated degree in Cardiovascular Ultrasound
  • Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training

Minimum Experience:

  • 2 years’ experience performing M-mode and 2-dimensional echocardiograms, as well as Doppler studies.

Req. Certification/Licensure:

  • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), and/or
  • Register Cardiac Sonography (RCS) from Cardiovascular credentialing international (CCI)
  • BLS CPR Card from the American Heart Association

Additional Information:

  • Hourly Rate: $55.15

Pay Rate: $35.10 - $52.65 / hour
