Job Description
Summary
We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow to work in a highly collaborative lab on human models of disease.
Job Duties
- Leads and contributes to the development of iPSCs for studies of Parkinson's disease, including generating iPSCs, performing gene editing for four genes identified as risk factors for Parkinson's disease, selecting, validating, and performing experiments.
- Collaborates with other investigators to design single-cell experiments andinterprets findings across different models (fruit fly, mouse, human models), and generate new biological insights.
- Develops robust pipelines for gene editing of human iPSCs and characterization of derived 2D and 3D models.
- Contributes to the writing and preparation of research papers, grant applications, and presentations for both scientific and lay audiences.
- Maintains an active role in the academic community by attending and presenting at relevant conferences, workshops, and seminars.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in stem cell biology or neurobiology
- At least 1 year postdoctoral experience working on brain organoid models
- Expertise in iPSC technology
- Expertise in gene editing and generating isogenic controls
