Job Description

Summary

Research Compliance Associates provide reviews and support to the Director of Grants Policy Compliance and senior leadership. This position ensures that BCM staff and investigators are in compliance with Public Health Service (PHS) grants policy regulations as well as other federal regulations related to the management of research funding.

Job Duties

  • Offers guidance, coordination, and oversight in regards to regulatory agency policies.
  • Provides subject matter expertise to the College pertaining to best practices in the research compliance and adherence to federal regulations and grants policy requirements.
  • Provides expertise to key departmental leadership regarding research compliance and grants policy compliance. 
  • Responsible for reviewing and addressing concerns about processes and specific proposals' grants policy adherence and making recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Develops and analyzes key performance indicators to define success in grants policy compliance.
  • Assesses concerns of non-compliance (both routine and for cause) in the area of grants policy compliance at the College.
  • Makes recommendations to leadership related to disclosures for bringing proposals for funding into compliance with funding requirements.
  • Works closely with Investigators across the college to manage Other Support and Biosketch documents along with proposals for funding and ensure compliance with  regulatory and college requirements.
  • Assists with the development, communication of, and implementation of policies, procedures, updates to submission forms, updates to the submission system, and guidance for the College's research community.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of the program which educates and promotes BCM-wide adherence to best practices in grants policy compliance.
  • Conducts and coordinates educational workshops and seminars regarding issues in grants policy compliance and research compliance.
  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with Investigators.
     

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing federal grants with a strong understanding of the NIH grants lifecycle.
