Purpose of Position
The HRIS Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting HR data, metrics, and statistics to ensure informed decision making and improved business outcomes. This role is integral to providing strategic insights and recommendations in areas like payroll, learning management, retention, benefits, compliance and various HR related reporting to internal partners such as IR and external agencies. The analyst’s responsibilities include in-depth work with data, encompassing the evaluation of statistics in several different HR functions.
Primary Responsibilities
Collects and compiles HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including the human resource information system (HRIS) and payroll outputs, training (LMS Systems), management and employee surveys, exit interviews, employment records, government labor statistics, and other sources.
Assists HRIS Director in ensuring data accuracy, security, and compliance, analyzing. data and statistics for trends and patterns.
Assist with resolving complex HRIS system issues that impact security, payroll and other HR systems.
Develop and produce regular and ad-hoc HR reports, metrics, and dashboards for university leadership and stakeholders.
Train HR staff and end-users on HRIS system usage and best practices; collaborate with HR and IT teams to test, implement, upgrade, and optimize HRIS, LMS systems and other HR systems such as applicant tracking.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to HR processes and transactions; ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.
Assists HR leadership with HR projects of special nature, including annual enrollment, programs and initiatives, particularly as related to data and information.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proven experience as an HRIS Analyst or similar role in a HR related function.
Proficiency in HRIS software, preferably SAP, data analysis tools, reporting systems and MS Office Suite of Applications.
Strong understanding of HR processes, legal compliance, and data privacy, excellent analytical, problem-solving, collaboration and communication skills, attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
Ability to collect, compile, and analyze complex information and data. Knowledge of higher education HR practices and challenges is a plus.
