Manager, Patient Communications

Following the strategic direction of the leader, the Manager, Patient Communications, provides communications support for the patient communications plan with a focus on care coordination, patient educational content and necessary information relevant to patient care. Patient communications topics will include, but not be limited to campus/location construction and impacts; updated visit information, issues management, emergency communications and wellness.

The Manager contributes to the overarching patient engagement vision and strategy and supports the governance for patient communications. The Manager supports the execution of general patient communications vehicles such as patient newsletters, websites and supports implementation of standardized content over multiple communications channels. The Manager will attend required in-person meetings and construction tours at the Duarte and Irwindale campuses and clinical network sites throughout Southern California.

This position will work closely with the Communications, Marketing and Patient Experience teams.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Create clear and concise patient communications to inform and engage City of Hope patients.
  • Maintain up-to-date communication information across all patient communications channels including email, website, patient portal, SMS text messages, print, CRM marketing, patient communications intranet site, call center and in-person channels such as patient-facing staff, physicians, volunteers, etc.
  • Provide project management of key patient communications projects.
  • In collaboration with the Digital Marketing team, utilizes the Salesforce Marketing Cloud system to create patient communications and monitor email analytics.
  • Support activities of the Patient Communications Advisory Council and workstream meetings.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
    Five years relevant experience in communications plus 1-2 years of experience in a leadership capacity.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $43.58 - $72.79 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
