Job Summary:
The Lead Sterile Processing Technician assists supervisors in the operations within the Sterile Processing Department of the Hospital. The Sterile Processing Lead Technician serves as a resource staff and assure policies and procedures are followed. The Lead serves as a resource for staff and customers regarding sterilization, processing of surgical instruments and surgical inventory/Case Cart management and storage. Participates in the departmental patient safety and performance improvement initiatives.
Position Highlights:
The Lead Sterile Processing Technician:
- Will maintain surgical instrument inventory Will Has experience with training new staff
- Will perform all the Sterile Processing Department duties within the area assigned.
- Has a working knowledge of all functions within the Sterile Processing Department
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has Monitors and assists Sterile Processing staff to ensure that all functions are carried out according to policies and procedures and compliance with applicable Federal, State and other regulatory agencies.
- Has experience with training new staff
- Has a working knowledge of all functions within the Sterile Processing Department
Credentials and Qualifications:
- Three (3) years’ experience as Central Sterile Processing Technician upon hire.
- High School Diploma/GED
- Experience and working knowledge of all functions within the Sterile Processing Department and can perform all duties within the area assigned.
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) upon hire; Or
- Certified Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) upon hire.
