Job Description

Summary

We are seeking a qualified personnel to perform routine clinical research as a full-time Research Technician II. The Research Technician II will function in a capacity in which they record data and compile collected data following procedures in clinical research trials. The Research Technician II will utilize their academic and technical knowledge to assist in research data collection and analysis. The candidate will compile and analyze data obtained in human subjects at the epilepsy monitoring unit as part of a research protocol. The project that the personnel will be mainly working on aims to decode neural basis of cognition, affect, emotion, motivation, and other related behaviors using intracranial neural recordings from recording-enabled brain stimulation systems.

Job Duties

  • Conduct weekly experiments (50%): Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments to explore neural basis for natural behaviors; Collects, compiles and analyzes data from human subjects that are part of the clinical trials.
  • Document results of experiments for behavioral and intracranial EEG research (20%).
  • Backing up results and compiling results into standardized formats using excel, Matlab and other office softwares.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned (30%).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience of regulatory aspects of clinical research is a must.
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to understand and implement research studies and protocols.
