Senior Pharmacy Technician I (Inpatient)

The successful candidate:
Must be able to work FT; Monday-Friday 11a-7:30p.
Procures and distributes medication orders per physician request, pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
Assist with maintaining adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established inventory control levels
Assist with the management of the automated dispensing machines reporting for quality and regulatory measures.
Assist with pharmacy workflow by streamlining phone calls to the appropriate staff member; and delivery of patient specific medications to departments throughout the facility.
Participate in departmental and hospital quality assurance programs with an emphasis on patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
Assist with regulatory required monthly unit inspections for all departments that stock medications.
Qualifications
Minimum Education Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience
Previous hospital experience preferred.
Background in the admixing of sterile oncology preparations
Be competent in aseptic compounding of sterile IV preparations in compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 guidelines, including but not limited to TPN, IV drips, and chemotherapy.
Required Certification/Licensure
Active pharmacy technician license through the Georgia Board of Pharmacy
Active National Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification preferred, or must be obtained within 60 days of employment

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $17.20 - $26.55 / hour
