Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track or tenured faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor in the Department of Computer & Information Science & Engineering in the areas of Computer Science and Engineering.
The Department of Computer & Information Science & Engineering provides a vibrant, multidisciplinary, and highly collaborative environment, and is consistently ranked among the top departments for both graduate and undergraduate programs. This department is among the largest CISE departments in the nation, with 57 faculty members and over 5,000 graduate and undergraduate students. Research is central to the success of the program, and new faculty will be expected to initiate and sustain strong sponsored research and graduate training programs. The department has consistently been ranked in the top 25 programs in computer engineering, among graduate engineering public universities in the US.
The department provides an integrated computer science and engineering education addressing a wide spectrum of computing areas, including AI/machine learning, algorithms, bioinformatics, computational complexity, compilers, computer architecture, computer networks, cybersecurity, databases, human-centered computing, operating systems, programming languages, software engineering, etc. New faculty will be expected to continue the tradition of both developing and teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate level.
EXPECTED SALARY:
Salary to commensurate with education and experience.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Eligible applicants must have a PhD or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
