The TAP initiative ensures that the Office of Philanthropy is poised to move quickly, effectively and efficiently to maximize opportunities on behalf of City of Hope.

Under the supervision of the Manager, Finance Administration, performing a variety of advancement, financial, operational, and administrative duties and analysis functions in support of the day-to-day operations for the Philanthropy Group. Assists in the resolving problems that have a significant impact on the overall goals for the City of Hope (COH) and the group. Has the ability to work independently and in groups and ensures the integrity of financial related reports and trends.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Compile, reconcile, analyze, summarize, and interpret accurate fundraising advancement and financial data for reports, trends, and presentations to all levels in the organization applying GAAP, CASE, and/or other performance reporting methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain insightful financial metrics and reporting solutions for operational team as well as executive presentation using dashboards from Excel, Tableau, etc.
  • Partner with programmer and BI team to put the Philanthropy Finance Data mart and other web based tools for more dynamic reporting and analysis; interpret the business needs for reporting and help translate the technical needs for financial database, and dashboard for a more up-to-date and interactive visual presentation of reports and performances by department, fundraiser, program, etc.
  • Lead and supervise research and preparation of variance analysis and explanations for commentary in management reports, fundraising advancement and financial reviews, and special projects critical to making business decisions.
  • Develop and administer all aspects of the annual operating and capital expenditure budgets, and all annual fundraising goals and revenue projections within Philanthropy.
  • Within Philanthropy: all department Managers, Directors, and Associate Vice Presidents, plus all senior management positions (VPs, SVP & ET); Finance Department: Financial Analyst and Event Budget Analyst: Corporate Accounting; Comptroller, Manager of Tax & Licensing; Internal Audit: Director and all staff auditors: Corporate Compliance – Chief Compliance Officer, and Associate Compliance Officer.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience and/or oversight of finance, administrative, and technical duties, preferably at a major employer or research institution, including progressive attainment of financial management responsibilities.
  • Master of Business Administration preferred.
  • Management/Finance courses and training preferred.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $45.22 - $72.36 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
