What Your Job Will Be Like: The Enterprise Enabling Solutions & Services Group, 9760, is looking for a dynamic individual to lead and manage Department 9763 Enterprise End User Computing Services. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Enterprise Enabling Solutions & Services, a group that provides a variety of end user support services and endpoint engineering solutions for Sandia on behalf of the National Security Mission. We are seeking a forward-thinking IT leader who is technically curious, aware of industry trends, and has a reputation of leading teams to success. Sandia recently implement ServiceNow for its IT Service Management platform. The successful candidate for this position will guide and shape the use of ServiceNow in providing end user computing support and services across Sandia. The ability to thrive while facing continuous change and demonstrate self-motivation, resilience and adaptability are key to success. Some of the primary responsibilities for the manager of this department include: + Daily guidance and support for the operations of Sandia’s Corporate Computing Help Desk, Computing Support Units in NM and other remote locations, and Password Administration Department + Guidance and support of Service Managers providing related end user support services such as Computer Builds, Knowledge, Mobility provisioning and support, Executive Office support, Continual Service Improvement, Fleet Copiers, and on-site walk-up end user services + Governance and contractual responsibilities associated with Sandia’s TPTIT contract which provides contracted personnel in support of the department’s activities + Development of vision and strategy in supporting Sandia’s end users, including on-site, hybrid and remote users + Supporting, motivating and growing department staff + Teaming with the other 9760 and Sandia California managers in providing solutions supporting Sandia’s end users and our IT partners On any given day, you may be called on to: + Guide the work of the department + Understand the work of the organization and connect the work and expertise of the organization with an understanding of the Labs’ needs + Promote excellence by managing and coordinating specific deliverables, overall program and project plans, budgets, structures, schedules, and staffing requirements + Ensure that customer needs are satisfied through the creation of trust-based relationships + Apply organization knowledge and experience to independently judge work quality, performance, and alignment of results with customer expectations + Oversee and manage members of the workforce, within the organization, including hiring, professional development, and assessment and performance management, consistent with the mission of the organization + Counsel and assist employees and management on government legislation, U.S. Department of Energy contract compliance, and Sandia National Laboratories' policies or procedures to ensure compliance The selected applicant can work a combination of onsite and offsite work. The selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary. Qualifications We Require: + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field + 8 years experience; or equivalent (MS + 4 years, AS + 12 years, or no degree + 16 years) + Included in the above; 4 years of leadership experience + Ability to acquire and maintain a DOE Q security clearance Qualifications We Desire: + Experience leading and building teams to execute and deliver + Experience and knowledge of ITIL and ITSM principles and best practices + Experience with ServiceNow + Leadership - Candidates must possess and have demonstrated experience with the following Leadership competencies: Strategic Future Visioning, Develop Relationships with Business Partners and Peers, Team Building and Development, Deliver on Commitments, and Integrity and Accountability + Relationships - Demonstrated technical business development experience with proven results in building trusted partnerships, both internal and external to Sandia + Communications - Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and customer service skills via technical and non-technical writing and presentations, including an ability to succinctly explain complex technical concepts. Demonstrated ability to translate technical terms to layperson's terms and present them to audiences outside of the organization. + Teaming - Strong teaming and interpersonal skills with demonstrated success working on multi-disciplinary teams as evidenced by substantive and positive references from current or past superiors, peers, or team members + Technical Competence - Demonstrated ability to use computer science principles dealing with complexity, scalability, robustness, integrity, correctness, and protocols. Familiarity with information system engineering, software engineering methodologies and processes using iterative/agile methodologies such as SCRUM, SAFe, Kanban, etc. About Our Team: Enterprise End User Computing Services, Department 9763, is comprised of teams that research, develop, and service the desktop and mobile computing environments across Sandia. Teams include Password Administration, Corporate Computing Help Desk, strategically located desktop support teams (CSUs), and other specialized support teams. The manager will be responsible for general management responsibilities including performance and career management for a staff of 21+. Additionally, there are 170+ contractors the manager will have varying degrees of operational responsibilities to manage.
