The successful candidate:

Hours: 4 10s dayshift during the week (possible 3 12s)
This individual must be able to operate all Magnetic Resonance (MR)-related equipment (i.e. scanner, coils/arrays, power injector, monitoring equipment, etc.) in a safe and proficient manner. They must abide by and enforce all compliance requirements and policies and perform these responsibilities in an ethical manner consistent with the organization's values. This position requires initiative, the ability to make independent judgments and a positive attitude. The candidate must be able to produce high quality images with a minimum of repeats. Must be able to handle multiple room assignments and all different types of exams on a daily basis. Must be able to communicate with physicians, patients, families, and ancillary hospital personnel. Will participate in performance improvement initiatives. Will assist with other activities as deemed necessary for the day-to-day operation of the department (i.e. clerical duties, inventory, stocking, light housekeeping duties, etc.).
- Performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) exams. Ensures correct administration of contrast and that patient’s lab values fall within range before administering contrast. Questions patients regarding sensitivity to contrast media and/or other pharmaceutical levels, and indwelling metal. Completes all hospital required documentation/consents/screening forms/etc. Provides patient care with compassion.
- Authenticates all physician orders prior to exam. Maintains accurate records of exams performed. Documents patient exam information in the Radiology Information System, indicating correct begin and end times, tech names and additional charges for patient exams with data integrity. Facilitates procurement of necessary forms, consents and documentation to comply with hospital standards and obtains required signatures. Obtains required signatures, consents, and releases.
- Performs quality assurance on magnetic resonance equipment. Ensures patient equipment remains functional during scanning period. May recommend at time the procurement and necessity for maintenance and/or acquisition of equipment.
- Pursues advancing medical education through personal study (i.e. journal article review, formal education, conferences, etc.).
Education: High School Graduate or equivalent
Licensure: Registered by the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) in MRI and/or ARMRIT (American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists)
Special Skills: Basic Life Support (CPR)

Pay Rate: $31.90 - $52.55 / hour
