What You Will Achieve 

As a part of the Machining and Mechanics team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, change overs, adjustments and repairs of production and process equipment, for Pfizer's facilities and/or utility equipment.  Because of the nature of this team, you must adhere to all SOPs, cGMPs and plant quality, safety and documentation systems requirements to ensure continued operations of Pfizer facilities and equipment.   
 

As part of technical operations, you will be developing and applying your knowledge of procedures, techniques, tools, materials and equipment. Your receptiveness to new ideas will enhance the team’s ability to achieve goals and targets.  You will follow standard procedures to complete tasks and identify process issues or problems that involve direct application of your skills/knowledge.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision as required. 

  • Understand changeover, adjust, preventative maintenance and repair manufacturing equipment. 

 

Qualifications  

Must-Have 

  • High School Diploma or GED.  

  • Basic IT Skills. 

  • General shop safety practices including handling and storage of potentially dangerous equipment.   

 
Nice-to-Have 

  • Knowledge of the general trades: i.e., construction, electrical, machine shop.  Knowledge of basic mathematics. 

  • Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

  

Physical/mental requirements

  • Stand up to 10-12 hours per shift, twist at waist 20 times per hour, regularly lift up to 35 pounds per activity 20 times per shift, occasionally lift a maximum of 50 pounds per activity 1- times per shift, occasionally may lift over 50 pounds with assistance, walk, climb stairs, climb ladders/walk on catwalks, repetitive use of upper extremities.
  • Must be able to work in scrubs, safety shoes and googles in non-classified manufacturing areas and full captive suit, hood, googles and boots in classified production area.
  • Use computer terminal 2 hours per shift, respond to visual warning indicators, respond to audible indicators, respond to color or special visual indicators, work around moving equipment, work on knees occasionally, wear specialized protective clothing, wear PPE (safety shoes/glasses/etc.), work in hot or cold environment, work in hearing conservation area.

Non-standard work schedule, travel or environment requirements

  • Rotating 12 hours night schedule (7pm-7am) and a 3-2-2 working days. Weekend and/or Holiday hours may be required in order to meet business and/or customer needs. Must be flexible to stay over shift or come in early and cover alternating shift as business needs determine it.

The salary for this position ranges from $24.88 to $41.46 per hour. In addition, this position offers eligibility for overtime, weekend, holiday and other pay premiums depending on the work schedule and the Company’s policies.
