AVP, Marketing and Communications

As the AVP, Marketing & Communications for the City of Hope Atlanta Cancer Center, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing strategic initiatives to advance the mission and objectives of both City of Hope and the Atlanta Cancer Center. You'll oversee the development and execution of comprehensive marketing and communications programs, collaborating closely with the City of Hope System Chief Communications, Culture, and Experience Officer. This role is pivotal in crafting the marketing strategy for City of Hope Atlanta in conjunction with the System Chief Marketing Officer, while also providing support to the Atlanta Executive Leadership Team and the Office of Philanthropy.



This role presents an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the marketing and communications efforts of the City of Hope Atlanta Cancer Center, contributing to its growth and success in advancing cancer care and research.

The successful candidate:

Marketing Strategy

  • Lead the development and implementation of marketing strategies that enhance brand recognition and support the growth objectives of the Atlanta Cancer Center.

  • Establish client-centric processes to ensure efficient and timely delivery of programs and services.

  • Create impactful brand assets to raise awareness among patients and consumers.

Public Affairs

  • Oversee all external communications for the City of Hope Atlanta Cancer Center, including media outreach, executive communications, and thought leadership initiatives.

  • Drive regional and local recognition through earned media and strategic clinical marketing efforts.

  • Cultivate relationships with key external stakeholders in the healthcare community.

  • Develop and implement crisis communication plans as necessary and serve as a spokesperson for the organization.

Brand Management

  • Implement brand strategy and guidelines specific to City of Hope Atlanta, ensuring consistency across all marketing materials.

  • Elevate brand recognition through reputation-building efforts and consumer engagement.

  • Establish policies for brand alignment with external partners and oversee local creative adaptation.

Digital Marketing

  • Manage the City of Hope Atlanta section of the website and develop a strategic electronic communications plan.

  • Increase social media engagement and develop mobile strategies for engaging with referring physicians.

Personnel Management

  • Recruit, retain, and develop high-performing team members to support departmental goals and objectives.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to foster a vision of excellence within the department.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • 10 years relevant experience in marketing communications and government relations required

  • 5 years’ experience in the healthcare arena preferred

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in marketing, public affairs, communications or related field preferred

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $80.82 - $141.58 / hour
