Description & Details: The Desktop Engineer is an essential part of the Client Experience Solutions (CXS) team and develops desktop engineering procedures, system policies, programming and scripting solutions, testing approaches, security methodologies, and an array of documentation to build and support a suite of images and applications, centrally deployed in ITS, and assisting in the management of these services. The individual in this position utilizes industry best practices and design principles in these activities. Work Schedule: regular university office hours, M - F, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Advertised Salary: $60,500+ depending on experience

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant IT field and/or experience equal to four years.

· Organizational skills and effective oral and written communication skills.

· Endpoint management experience (SCCM, JAMF, or comparable systems)

· Advanced support-level skills for Mac and PC hardware and software, including operating systems.

· Demonstrated capacity for self-directed learning.

· Ability to work independently.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Basic computer hardware repair

· Strong analytical and diagnostic skills

· Willingness to work after hours/weekends as needed.

· Excellent interpersonal skills

· Ability to solve complex problems independently and in collaboration with users, vendors, and colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications:

· 4 or more yrs. providing desktop engineering support (combination of onsite and remote capacity). Includes areas such as Microsoft Windows, Mac OS, Configuration management applications, Microsoft System Center, Group policies, Microsoft Azure/InTune and Jamf Pro

· In-depth knowledge of demonstrated OS image configuration, application deployment, server administration, LAN functionality.

· Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.

· Ability to work in a team environment.

· Powershell/VB scripting.

· Application and desktop virtualization.

· Desktop management/remote management.

· MacOS, or other operating systems.

· Cybersecurity frameworks and compliance (eg: NIST, CMMC, etc.

· Microsoft certifications in current Windows or Server operating systems and major applications as Microsoft Office, Visio, etc.

· Certification in current Apple MacOS and/or Jamf Pro.
