What Your Job Will Be Like: We are seeking a Computing Infrastructure Engineer to join our team and be a highly valued member of the United States Nuclear Detonation (NUDET) Detection System (USNDS) program. Our program supports the United States Space Force in its nuclear detonation detection and monitoring missions. The USNDS system relies on space-based sensor payloads that transmit data to satellite ground systems for mission processing. We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our highly talented team, with a strong interest in designing, developing, and integrating hardware infrastructures for large scale software and hardware systems. On any given day, you may be called on to: + Design new features or develop fixes for an operational ground system. + Install and configure hardware components within a large-scale operational ground system. + Ensure systems designs are documented and persisted within configuration management software. + Team with a multi-discipline group that includes software engineers and integration testers. + Effectively communicate with internal and external customers to understand their technical needs. Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicants must be able to work onsite in New Mexico. Qualifications We Require: + Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or other relevant STEM field plus 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent. + Experience as a Linux system administrator. + Experience configuring and maintaining virtual machines. + Experience running network scans and mitigating identified cyber security vulnerabilities. + Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance. Qualifications We Desire: + Experience with the USNDS program. + Experience as with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) + Experience with hardware platforms for large software systems. + Possess a strong dedication to positive teaming dynamic, strong written and verbal skills, detail oriented with a keen focus on customer service. + Active DOE Q or DOD equivalent security clearance. About Our Team: USNDS 6 Ground Program Office (Department 06743) is responsible for the project management, systems engineering, and operations of the satellite ground systems that support the US capability to monitor the earth’s surface, atmosphere and surrounding space for nuclear detonations. This department serves as one of the technical interfaces to the Space Force for projects within the United States Nuclear Detonation (NUDET) Detection System (USNDS) Ground Program, which include the Integrated Correlation and Display System (ICADS) and the Ground NDS Terminal (GNT). In addition, the team works closely with Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC) operators to support real-time missions, resolve and analyze anomalies, and define ground system requirements.
