Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Position Highlights:

  • The Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for design, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of the Azure and Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Working with Unified Communications engineers and enterprise architecture team this role will make sure all deployments follow standards, are compliant, and secure.
  • This role is also responsible for the design, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of Active Directory and Azure/Entra ID, maintaining current standards.
  • Provide transition instruction, documentation and tier three technical support to the production environment, as well as performing root cause analysis after critical incidents.
  • Design and implement complex identity management solutions utilizing tools such as PKI, ADFS, and Azure AD Connect.
  • As a lead member of the Microsoft Exchange Active Directory (MEAD) team, this role will lead, coordinate and facilitate the team's daily work to ensure service delivery and system design continuity.
  • The Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer provides technical guidance to team members and when called upon, serves as a technical liaison between internal departments and external partner resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in team activities such as daily stand-ups, peer code reviews, design collaboration efforts and rotating on-call process
  • Be the first contact to business application owners and building bridge between them and cloud team
  • Use automation, configuration management and deployment tools to manage production environment ensuring standardization and adherence to established controls and patterns
  • Enhance existing deployment processes and Infrastructure as Code scripts to improve automation, efficiency, consistency and adherence to security and audit requirements and control
  • Perform Daily health checks of Active Directory and Entra ID environments.
  • Use multiple tools to analyze Domain Controller servers for best performance while adhering to best practice standards and guidelines.
  • Provide team leadership coordinating and facilitating the work of MEAD team members, state-side and offshoring resources as required
  • Analyzes the most complex technical problems and delivers solutions where precedent may not exist
  • Point of issues escalation and subject matter expert in Microsoft cloud solutions in Entra ID, IDAM and platform design, security and administration
  • Maintain comprehensive and systematic configuration, lifecycle and security management of servers
  • Deploy scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure using automation tooling for routine operation tasks
  • Manage implementation and the ongoing operation of cloud services following approved designs, adherence to patterns, security requirements and certify all logging and monitoring are active for security and compliance
  • Ensure cloud services and toolsets are deployed using best practices and documentation
  • Engage with project managers, Scrum Masters and project facilitators through implementation of Microsoft cloud solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Participates in enterprise projects in the cloud; functioning as the lead resource covering technical and architectural assessments, services, analytics, security, testing, and deployment
  • Work with solution architects and partners to confirm developed solutions align with existing standards, meet security controls and meet cloud computing best practices

Credentials and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Computer Science, Information Systems, Communication or related technology field
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in managing Windows Domains using Active Directory and Azure/Entra ID.
  • Thorough understanding of Domain/Forest trusts, Replication, NTFS/ACL permissions, Group Policies, etc. Must be proficient in at least one of the following operating systems: Windows Server 2012/2012 R2, 2016.

 

  • **The following combinations of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
    • Associate's degree with an additional two (2) years of relevant technology experience plus the five (5) years (for a total of 7 years) experience

    • High School Diploma with an additional four (4) years of relevant technology experience plus the five (5) years (for a total of 9 years) experience

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred, specifically a hospital or hospital system, preferably in a 24x7 environment. Preferred experience working in an environment where HIPAA compliance is in use.

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Applications and Services (including, but not limited to WSUS, IIS, FTP, DNS, and DHCP).
  • Knowledge and experience applying Group Policy Objects in a Domain Environment
  • Experience building an automated cloud infrastructure across Prod and Non-Prod environments
  • Scripting and automation of builds, workflows, tasks and other integration aspects
  • Configuration management, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) toolsets (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet and Chef)
