A Staff Scientist position is available in the lab of Dr. Fouad Kandeel under Dr. Angel Gu. She is a knowledgeable, self-driven and results-oriented veterinary scientist and immunologist with extensive experience in experimental design, analysis of results and interpretation of data from pre-clinical animal models of disease. She has experience in manufactory sterilization process, knowledge about the standard of AAMI guidance and Extensive experience on embryonic stem cells, human and mouse T cells and hematopoietic stem cells handling, expansion, and banking.
Dr. Gu recently developed a robust humanized mouse model for use in screening anti-viral gene therapy strategies for HIV that is the basis of the proposed experiments in the enclosed R01 application to study HIV latency.
Your qualifications should include:
· Must have a Ph.D with a minimum of three years of human T cells and regulatory T cells research experience.
· Must have research experience in the fields of immunology and diabetes, especially T1D
· Must have research experience in development of CAR-T cells.
· Must have a publication record in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
· Must have the ability to effectively develop a project in a translational research environment in order to successfully meet project goals.
· Must have the ability to design and execute laboratory experiments, critically interpret experimental results, and present data in a clear and concise manner.
· Ability to participate in the preparation of grant applications, scientific publications, and IND submissions.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $34.96 - $118.63 / hour
