What You Will Achieve

You will be a member of Pfizer’s dedicated and highly effective quality control chemistry team. You will have the all-important role of safe execution of lab activities and for continuous improvement of lab performance when conducting the day-to-day sampling, analytical testing and providing analytical test data within established time-frames for products manufactured at the PGS Melbourne site

How You Will Achieve It

  • Performs all operations within the Functional unit according to the relevant procedure and compendial standard.
  • Reports the inventory of Controls and Standards, ensuring reliable supply, and arranging necessary validation, for the Functional Unit
  • Ensures all OOS & non-compliance investigations & reporting functions within the Functional Unit are initiated and communicated to the Laboratory Coordinator/Team Leader in a timely fashion
  • actions to prevent reoccurrence of the non-conformances
  • Participates in risk assessment investigations within the Functional Unit and oversees strategies to reduce identified business risks       
  • Participates in updates of QC documentation (including compendial review) to ensure it is maintained up-to-date and is current for the Functional unit.
  • Ensures that testing is actioned to deliver results within expected lead-times, and to provide a timely feedback to Laboratory Coordinator when delays to the testing schedule may occur
  • Ensure analytical data is reported to support customer time-lines or project requirements
  • Ensures KPI’s are monitored, and reported weekly for the Functional Unit
  • Participates in the review of KPI’s and assists in the development of future performance targets
  • Liaises with the Laboratory Coordinator or Team Leader ensuring effective communication channels are maintained, and to assess the effectiveness of the Functional Units service delivery
  • Participates in performance appraisals according to QC procedures ensuring annual and half yearly              performance appraisals are conducted on time
  • Is familiar with, and actively communicates, the strategic plan objectives of the department through day-to day activities with Team Leader / Coordinator
  • Displays of expected values, behavior and culture
  • Creates an environment of open communication and equal recognition of contribution
  • Ensures the Functional Unit is risk managed reporting of all incidents / or perceived risks.
  • Ensures that all staff work  in a safe environment and in a safe manner in compliance with relevant policies, procedures and statutory obligations
  • Ensures compliance to the Incident & Hazard Management and Reporting Systems for the Functional Unit
  • Initiate and participate  CI ideas

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Good working knowledge of common laboratory databases
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for Pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Good analytical thinking and high-level integrity
  • Able to work well either as an individual or as a team member
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience in a pharmaceutical chemistry laboratory
