What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a Manager of Information Systems Engineering, to lead the Enterprise Management Services organization (9784). The Enterprise Operations Group, 9780, is looking for a dynamic individual to lead and manage Department 9784 Enterprise Management Services. We are seeking an IT leader who stays current and interested in new technology advancements, aware of industry trends, and has a reputation of leading teams to success. The successful manager will be responsible for IT services which include the Enterprise Secure Network (ESN Infrastructure, ESN Supply Chain, Software Assurance, Enterprise Backups, Mobile Classified Computing and Control M Batch Scheduler.

The Enterprise Management Services Manager is responsible for overseeing and guiding the organizations daily activities of the critical IT services. This includes working several 24x7 environments to ensure all high-profile systems and services are operational and ready to support the mission of the IT infrastructure for Sandia National Laboratories. In addition, the following critical services such as Linux Administration, RSA Authentication, F5 Load Balancer Administration, Ansible Automation and STIG implementation are in the dimension of the appointed manager.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Provide leadership for the Enterprise Secure Network (ESN) and the next generation network ESN Hub
  • Develop a strategy for technology maturation of critical technologies such as ForgeRock services specifically Access Manager, Directory Service, and Identity Management; oversee projects and help develop a 5-year roadmap for essential services
  • Directing production NSN Secret Network; incorporating critical services such as networking, Video Conferencing, and authentication services. In addition, meshing NSN Secret Cloud with existing services
  • Guiding new significant; ESN Cloud and NSN Secret Cloud projects
  • Delivering PKI Authentication Services along with new SCN Enterprise Thin Clients and partnering with organization 9766 Enterprise Classified Capabilities
  • Work closely with PRIDE Program Manager to deliver critical web-enabled applications.
  • Mentoring and growing the next generation of Subject Matter Experts in oAuth powerful and secure framework for ESN-enabled applications
  • Collaborate with Information Management (NA-IM) Leadership, NNSA M&O sites, vendors, and matrix IT partners across Sandia to provide innovative design solutions and capabilities
  • Deliver results, effectively manage people, and guide multidisciplinary teams in various projects such as Enterprise Backups, Control M Scheduler Application and Mobile Classified Computing
  • Mentor and lead the organization on department tasks and organizational goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of technical business growing the Enterprise Secure Network, Control M and Enterprise Backups budget needs
  • Organize, prioritize, and follow through to completion on multiple tasks and projects.
  • Work with sensitive information and classified matter requiring an on-site presence
  • Promote excellence by managing and coordinating specific deliverables, overall team goals, budgets, structures, schedules, and staffing requirements
  • Propose and implement business recommendations to improve operations, performance, and management assurance
  • Foster an environment of inclusion and take an active leadership role in modeling and growing values in diversity, equality, and inclusion
  • Oversee development of business and financial plans, reports, and analyses, dealing with indirect and direct funding
  • Manage environmental, safety, and regulatory compliance issues affecting logistics operations in accordance to Sandia rules and guidelines
  • Coordinate and manage members of the organization, including hiring, professional development, and performance management

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Qualifications We Require:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Management, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus 8 years of experience; or equivalent (AS + 12 years or no degree + 16 years)
  • Experience leading or managing programs, projects, services, and/or teams
  • An active DOE Q clearance, or equivalent is required to start

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Information Technology Service Management certification (e.g. ITIL, Lean IT) a plus.
  • Experience dealing with other M&O sites such as LLNL, KCP, NNSAHQ, IARC, Y12, Savannah Rivers, Pantex, OSTI and LANL at a leadership level
  • Ability to negotiate and meet technical, programmatic, and financial requirements within the NNSA to the satisfaction of the customer in the execution of complex information technology projects
  • Experience with developing and managing budgets both direct and indirect funding at Sandia working with NA-IM leadership
  • Ability to partner effectively with other organizations to achieve common technical and programmatic goals
  • Proficiency with and demonstrated innovation in the lifecycle engineering of computing infrastructure. For example, enterprise architecture, system change and release processes, technology road mapping, business relationship management, etc.
  • Understanding of information system accreditations, cyber and physical security, vulnerability assessments, and the management of classified document repositories

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD).
