ROLE SUMMARY

The incumbent, within the US Market Access Marketing (USMA-M) team, will lead the development and execution of the US access marketing strategy for six biosimilar therapies in oncology, with a focus on limiting the erosion of ASP over time and maintain optimal access to drive brand performance. In addition, this individual will have responsibilities for Tukysa’s breast cancer indication. They will be responsible for the development, creation, approval and launch of key strategies and tactics designed to educate formulary decision makers and ensure optimal access. The access marketer will advocate for reimbursement and policy approaches that support biosimilar uptake and sustainability across the US. In addition, the individual will be the US lead for a workstream on supply capacity optimization to ensure financial performance.

The US Payer biosimilars and Tukysa lead will be part of the USMA Marketing team, Oncology, and will work closely with the Team Lead. This role would uniquely liaise with the brand team across the biosimilar franchise and the Tukysa brand team, the Payer Account management team, and cross-functional access colleagues within the US market access organization. This role is an opportunity for a talented, high-energy colleague to join the US Market Access Marketing team at a very exciting time given the heightened focus on oncology within Pfizer and the recent closing of the Seagen acquisition. 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The USMA Biosimilars Access Marketer will:

  • Ensure successful revenue maximization of the biosimilars portfolio by leading numerous activities, including updating the access plan with real time insights from customers.
  • Proactively identify and address key Tukysa barriers to payer access and performance by applying advanced understanding of and experience with contracting and pricing strategies, payer analytics, and payer market trends across brand lifecycle, and market channels.
  • Through the biosimilar narrative, ensure payers assess the potential cost savings and evaluate the economic impact of incorporating biosimilars into their formularies.
  • Where appropriate, drive inclusion of biosimilars into payer formularies or evaluate opportunities to walk away from contractual agreements that are ending
  • Drive and inform key decisions regarding Tukysa access assessments for and negotiations in a complex and continuously evolving market.
  • Achieve sustainable pricing through precision bidding and selective contracting that is informed by advanced competitive intelligence and analytics.
  • Determine the role of Samsung Take-or-Pay volume contract (expanded supply capacity) in US markets.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of external stakeholders to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

  • Bachelor's degree minimum required; MBA, PharmD, PhD or relevant graduate degree preferred.
  • Required: 10+ years of combined experience within the U.S. pharmaceutical/healthcare market with primary focus within strategy for Marketing and/or US Market Access, Customer/Account Management, Payer Brand/Customer Marketing, and/or Healthcare consulting.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly identify insights and develop effective strategies & tactics based on these insights.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills to help set priorities & strategies, and track record in leveraging insights to help guide the decision-making process.
  • Ability and desire to work effectively & collaboratively in a team-based environment with many internal stakeholders.
  • Proven record of operating in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Desire to work in an ambiguous environment, set priorities, and define workstreams as needed.

SELECTED SKILLS GAINED

  • Understanding of US market access marketing specific oncology initiatives focused on access customers, for both medical and pharmacy benefit products
  • Development of US buy and bill expertise, including ASP dynamics, contracting implications, and payer analytics
  • Knowledge of key marketplace dynamics and healthcare trends (Inflation Reduction Act’s impact on Medicare, 340B dynamics, channel management considerations, pharmacy benefit therapies etc.) for biosimilars
  • Significant visibility within the global and US Value and Access teams and with USMA partners: Brand marketing, Contracting, US Market Access leadership team, RC, Global Access teams etc.
  • Deep insights into the access brand marketing launch process through collaboration with stakeholders with expertise gained into pre-launch marketing limitations, training account teams, and launch strategy

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $161,600.00 to $269,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
