ROLE SUMMARY
Pfizer is harnessing the power of AI across all its core functions – from R&D to Medical, Manufacturing and Commercial – to advance our purpose of bringing breakthroughs to patients. This role will assist the Lead Compliance Counsel in building an effective risk management program to support the responsible adoption of Artificial Intelligence across the enterprise. This role will also entail proactive compliance work to mitigate risk in the development, deployment and commercialization of digital health and medicines products. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to provide compliance counsel on significant M&A transactions related to AI and digital medicines.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and engage in proactive compliance activities to ensure effective AI risk management across Pfizer, including: (i) developing effective AI governance, (ii) creating formal risk assessment and mitigation programs for AI use cases and capabilities; (iii) supporting development of new policies, guidance and procedures (iv) training and outreach efforts, including development and/or execution of training curriculum in key areas; (v) anticipation of emerging trends and changes to the political, legal and regulatory landscape; and (vi) development of additional controls to drive responsible AI adoption and enhance a culture of integrity.
This role will entail significant work on high-priority, cross-functional projects to mitigate risk related to the rapid advancement of AI technology across the enterprise.
This role will also entail proactive compliance work to mitigate risk in the development, deployment and commercialization of digital health and medicines products, including those leveraging AI.
The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to serve as compliance counsel on M&A deals related to AI and digital medicines.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must Have:
J.D. or equivalent degree.
Must be a member of the Bar.
10+ years' legal experience.
Experience at a top law firm, government or in-house involving practical application of US healthcare laws, e.g., investigations, risk assessments, compliance program development, product counsel, R&D counsel, regulatory counsel, or similar experience.
Prior experience counseling clients and/or developing compliance programs focused on digital/tech. law, artificial intelligence, software medical devices, digital health, or other rapidly evolving areas of law.
Excellent written and oral skills and ability to translate complex information is required.
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

Limited travel 1-2 times per year.
