Pfizer is seeking a Market Research Insights Director to lead insight support and advance insights-based decision-making for US & Global Vaccines, Prevnar. The MRI Insights Director will partner with US & Global brand teams and their leadership to shape strategy and power a world-class commercial engine, and to ensure the best HCP, patient, and customer experiences.

Each Market Research Insights Director drives brand strategy for a Priority Brand, with accountability for ~4-5M in market research budget. The Market Research Insights Director is an integrated part of a US & Global Priority Brand/Pipeline team responsible for proactively identifying business questions and strategic needs, creating learning plans to address those questions, designing and managing multiple research initiatives, and driving business impact by delivering clear and actionable insights-based recommendations to US & Global Priority Brand teams and leadership.

The successful candidate will have exceptional consultative and communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels. This person is a strong collaborator and relationship-builder, with a proven ability to align cross-functional stakeholders and work effectively in a matrixed organization. The successful candidate is a subject matter expert in market research who uses that expertise to diagnose problems faced by the business, seek innovative ways to solve complex challenges, and present options and recommendations to influence strategy. This person is proactive, curious, passionate about insights, energized by a fast-paced environment, confident taking appropriate risks to drive change and taking on complex challenges, and comfortable with a high degree of ownership.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic and Business Impact

  • Shape US & Global Priority Brand market research strategy and drive business impact by developing the brand research roadmap and analytic plan and delivering insight-based recommendations aligned with the brand’s business priorities to brand teams, leaders, and stakeholders.
  • Drive US & Global impact by serving as a strategic and consultative thought partner to proactively identify and diagnose business questions, initiate and conduct research, and deliver recommendations across the lifecycle of a US & Global Priority Brand, from Pipeline through Loss of Exclusivity.
  • Combine and leverage functional expertise and deep business knowledge to represent the voice of the customer, and ensure recommendations are grounded in the realities of the business.
  • Engage, partner with, and influence US & Global Priority Brand teams and senior leaders in the Commercial organization, as well as the Chief Marketing Office and CAAI organizations.

  • Champion and advocate for market research as a driver of business decision making.
  • Embody the vision of the Market Research Insights team through commitment to the standards in place, seeking approaches that increase efficiency and consistency across businesses, and promoting knowledge and best practice sharing across business units, US/Global teams, and CAAI.
  • Actively seek new and innovative market research methodologies and capabilities to maximize business impact, expand our offerings, and elevate MRI to a best-in-class function.
  • Manage and prioritize brand market research budget, timelines, and resources, including identifying innovative solutions to champion cost savings without compromising research quality.
  • Oversee relationships with external vendors; negotiate agreements; assess effectiveness of operations, accuracy, and quality controls; identify problems and negotiate resolutions.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years’ experience as an insights professional.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) required.  Master’s degree preferred (in marketing, market research or related field preferred but not required)
  • Exceptional consultative skills.
  • Experience achieving results through matrixed organizations; ability to develop and maintain strong cross-functional and cross-team ties to influence without authority.
  • Experience effectively persuading key decision makers to adopt and support research recommendations and business priorities.
  • Demonstrated analytical capabilities and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience working in a dynamic, results-driven environment.
  • Proactive problem-solver, able to multitask and deliver multiple simultaneous projects on time with high quality, comfortable with a high degree of ownership.
  • Exemplary oral and written communication skills, and organizational skills.
  • The ability to filter and distill relevant information for the right audience.
  • Ability to network with individuals at all levels and develop close partnerships through strong interpersonal skills.

Work Location Assignment: Flexible

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $149,200.00 to $248,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
