The Marketing Academy Strategy Lead will enable the success of all Pfizer Marketers through a well-defined marketing talent and capabilities strategy. This is a new role within the Chief Marketing Office (CMO), reporting to the Marketing Academy Lead. This person will be responsible for defining the marketing capabilities needed in a modern marketing approach that will inform the Marketing Academy strategy, design and curriculum.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop Global Marketing Talent and Capabilities Strategy

  • Envision and oversee the implementation of a Global Marketing Talent Strategy; lead the development and organizational alignment of Marketing talent strategies that seek to identify, develop, and mobilize Marketing employees across levels globally.
  • Partner with global, international commercial offices and local leaders to create role profiles for marketers at all levels to identify capability needs.
  • Own the development and management of the marketer capability profile; Monitor external environment for trends on marketing excellence to inform capability profiles.
  • Lead marketer capability assessments for all markets.
  • Establish relationships with external marketing experts to bring outside-in perspectives on skills and capabilities needed for a modern marketing organization.
  • Conduct research and bring outside-in perspectives to the marketing organization that will inform marketing specific talent journeys, competitive analysis, and messaging aligned to all stages in a Marketing employee's career.
  • Build the marketing talent strategy branding and messaging to convey Pfizer’s unique value proposition to candidates through talent campaigns on Pfizer platforms and recruiting events.

Discover and Onboard New Marketing Talent

  • Work closely with the Marketing Rotational Program Lead to design marketing talent strategy including defining all channels for acquiring best-in-class marketers at all levels.
  • Work to enable the vision set forth by the talent strategy, ensuring that DEI, talent, and other goals are met across the community.

Develop Marketing Academy Structure

  • Oversee the ideation, development and implementation of the Marketing Academy to accelerate capabilities and skills marketers need to learn and master to be best-in-class.
  • Oversee the design of the marketing academy structure and learning tracks/courses needed for every level of the marketing organization.
    • Build and orchestrate marketer learning journeys comprised of skill sets marketers need to be trained on to deliver consistent best-in-class marketing.
    • Set learning requirements & curriculums for each marketer profile.
  • Manage strategic relationships with external stakeholders, including universities and industry expert panel, to drive opportunities for content co-development and accreditation programs.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Academy Design Lead to ensure proper training and learning is provided for new hires, providing a cohesive onboarding and career journey from day one.

Drive Cross-Functional Adoption of Marketing Talent Strategies

  • Establish network with cross functional global leaders and collaborate closely with stakeholders to drive the adoption and implementation of key marketing talent strategies including:
    • Recruiting to attract and interview best-in-class marketing talent in collaboration with People Experience (PX)
    • Collaborating with PX to ensure the appropriate career progressions and incentives
    • Collaborating with CMO verticals and Global Marketing Excellence teams to ensure marketing model and frameworks are embedded into marketing capabilities
    • Building successful partnerships with global leaders to drive marketer talent and capabilities strategy
    • Working with product teams, commercial offices and markets to ensure they have the skills needed to implement marketing model, strengthen launch plans and elevate marketing capabilities
  • Act as a key enabler to building a team culture that values and models Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and drive the CMOs excellence agenda.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS, MBA Preferred, Master’s degree (or equivalent certification) in Marketing, Business Administration, Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of marketing and/or consulting strategy experience; talent, human resources and learning and development, or similar roles/functions.
  • Demonstrated strong strategic thinking skills, as evidenced by the ability to tee up the right questions, identify alternative scenarios, articulate resulting implications, and develop recommendations for decision-making or action.
    • Track record of successfully working with complex, large teams, and influencing stakeholders (peers and senior leaders); passion for developing others
    • Optimizing internal connections and resources to bring the best value of others to create a collaborative expanded network
    • Successful interaction with external partners and vendors
  • Experience in creating and executing experience plans for recruiting and development of talent; passion to elevate and grow marketing talent, and knows the levers to drive talent growth.
  • Strong influencing, networking and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability and experience in effectively interacting with and influencing senior level and business/function leaders to establish trust and credibility.
  • Outstanding communication skills and demonstrated ability to effectively influence and encourage senior leaders, peer groups, and colleagues both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with complex information and distill into a framework that helps facilitate decision making.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and lead with indirect authority.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to measure the impact of talent management initiatives.

  • Demonstrate ability to thrive under pressure, to take accountability and to meet deadlines.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $191,300.00 to $318,800.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
