Job Description

Part-time semester adjunct faculty member with appropriate nursing specialization to teach in undergraduate psychiatric mental health nursing courses. Work assignments, days, times, and locations vary. Faculty responsibilities include teaching in classroom, clinical, and/or simulation environments in baccalaureate nursing courses for psychiatric mental health and other courses as appropriate; keep abreast of recent developments in nursing and incorporate into teaching; actively contribute to the professional life of the School of Nursing, the College of Health, and Ball State University.



The School of Nursing welcomes applications for part-time Instructors of Nursing with a specialization and/or experience in psychiatric mental health nursing.

This opportunity is for an in-person, on-site, on-campus, faculty position that requires BOTH a master’s degree in nursing and an active Indiana Registered Nurses license, without exception. This is not an online teaching opportunity.

The salary for this opportunity is $6,000 per clinical section.

Job Function:

Faculty responsibilities include teaching in classroom, clinical, and/or simulation environments in baccalaureate nursing courses for psychiatric mental health and other courses as appropriate; keep abreast of recent developments in nursing and incorporate into teaching; actively contribute to the professional life of the School of Nursing, the College of Health, and Ball State University.


Minimum Experience:

Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university by the date of appointment; clinical nursing experience in psychiatric mental health; ability to communicate effectively; and ability to use and integrate technology in nursing education.

Preferred Experience:

Teaching experience in higher education and/or an earned doctorate in nursing or related field from an accredited college or university.
