Summary

This position will require clinical research responsibilities for a busy clinician.   The position will work along with other clinical and research staff to execute the assigned and funded clinical trials, providing consenting, documentation, scheduling and monitor visits by the sponsors of the trials. 

 

Research Coordinator I position coordinates day-to-day activities of research protocols, including screening, enrollment, and monitoring of research participants. Ensures accurate data collection, documentation, organization, and safety of research participants. 

Job Duties

  • Interviews, screen and recruits patients for study; explains process and procedures to educate participant regarding the research study. (20%)
  • May correspond with patient throughout study. (15%)
  • Collects, processes, ships, and maintains paperwork for blood and/or biological specimens according to procedures outlined in study protocol. (20%)
  • Collects patient information; processes documents and enters information into a database. May perform Venipuncture (blood draws), EKGs/ECGs and obtain vital signs on study participants. (10%)
  • Maintains records and regulatory documents for research studies. (5%)
  • Schedules research participant for tests and procedures such as laboratory tests, x-rays, and other studies specific for the research protocol. (10%)
  • Retrieves and submits test results to appropriate party. (5%)
  • Follows standard operating procedures as detailed in each study's Manual of Operations. (5%) 
  • Orders supplies and equipment. (5%)
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned. (5%)

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
