The Food Service Worker II may work anywhere on property where food is prepared. This person may assist in setup and serving of food from counters and steamtables. The FSW II may be responsible for handling cash and credit transactions from customers. Duties will include cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work stations. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but City of Hope may identify other responsibilities of the position

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Be responsible for the setup and assembly of meals from tray-line and/or kitchen:
  • Read production orders on color-coded menu cards on trays to determine items to place on tray, and places items, such as eating utensils, napkins and condiments on trays.
  • Apportion and place food servings on plates and trays according to diet list on menu card.
  • Examine filled tray for completeness and place it on cart, dumbwaiter or conveyor belt.
  • Prepare for service before the meal and clean the dining room after the meal (wiping tables, vacuuming the floor, cleaning chairs, ensuring the acceptable appearance of the dining area).
  • Interact with customers in the serving, retail and dining areas, assist customers with opening containers and cutting food when requested. Provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times.
  • Be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing workstations, counters, steam tables and other equipment.
  • Wash dishes and clean work area, tables, cabinets and ovens.

Your qualifications should include:

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and cash-handling procedures preferred.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $20.86 - $24.99 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
