Job Description
Registered RN that assumes a supervisory role while organizing and directing both patient care and staff activities within the IR Department. Accountable for practicing within the defined scope for the Registered Nurse, commits to providing safe, quality nursing care. Oversees the daily procedure schedule of the IR department including staffing assignments, medical equipment maintenance and medical supply procurement. Guides personnel in the provision of quality patient care for all age groups in the department. Performs duties as delegated by the Imaging Director and Manager. Monitors and educates and evaluates the IR RN’s.

The successful candidate:

  • Administrative management of IR nurses.
  • Coordinates and oversees IR department day to day operations-assuring optimal staffing schedules.
  • Performs initial orientation and annual competency and performance evaluations for IR RN’s.
  • Responsible for timekeeping, SWI and Nursing policy development/maintenance for IR department.
  • Regularly meets with Imaging leadership and radiologists to collaboratively assess department quality of care.
  • Works as the Imaging nursing representative for hospital committees and councils, as appointed, by the Director.
  • Oversees the daily procedure schedule and assists in the coordination of procedural scheduling with appropriate sedation and anesthesia providers.
  • Assists IR physicians and IR Charge RN to coordinate all aspects of pre-procedural, intra-procedural, and post-procedural care in the IR suites.
  • Assists with the IR Consult RN responsibilities and scheduling of Theranostic procedures.
  • This Supervisor IR RN must be competent in monitoring and administering Moderate sedation during IR procedures.
  • Accurately & promptly implements physician orders, circulates, and assists with the immediate recovery of patients.
  • Responds to emergency situations in the IR and Imaging department, as necessary.
  • Provides nursing support in other Imaging department areas as needed.
  • Must be able to work M-F 8:00a-4:30p

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • Current IL RN license
  • BLS Certification Required
  • ACLS Certification Required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with exposure to all aspects of care within a Medical Imaging Department
  • Strong analytical skills; must be able to perform routine mathematical functions
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to coordinate and manage multiple priorities and responsibilities
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be precise, a self-starter and have good follow through skills

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $36.71 - $60.46 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
