Summary

Center for Cell and Gene Therapy has an opening for a Research Technician II to assist with testing and release of clinical products containing CAR-engineered T-cells as an experimental therapy of cancer. Will also work with blood and tissue samples to analyze the presence and the quality of experimental cells in patients post-infusion. This role is a part of an excellent, diverse, and motivated team of scientists and would be a great opportunity for those who want to make a difference in the life of cancer patients.  The position involves communicating with different teams, including clinical coordinators and physicians. This role is a great way to use skills learned in college and apply them to real-world clinical research.

Job Duties

  • Release testing of patients' CAR T-cell lines.
  • Prepare and perform under supervision flow cytometric analysis of patient's starting cell material, in-process CAR T-cells and final CAR T-cell products following standard operating procedures (SOP) protocols.
  • Coordinate with CAGT GMP and GLP cores obtaining and processing primary patient samples collected at follow-up for subsequent analysis.
  • Perform standard potency testing of CAR T-cell products following standard operating procedures (SOP) protocols.
  • Complete required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a list of common reagents required for release testing and restock in a timely manner.
  • Assist with preparing and infusing CAR T-cell lines to patients at TCH and HMH.
  • Update inventory and patients' status regularly.
  • Laboratory organization and ordering, collect and place orders for a laboratory (twice a week).
  • Assist with obtaining quotes for research equipment and supplies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Biology or related field.
  • Experience with cell culture.
  • Be highly organized to keep track of patient's information and inventory and adaptable to the flexible nature of clinical research.
