Medical Technologist (MLS/MT/MLT)

The successful candidate:

Here We Grow Again! City of Hope Atlanta is expanding its team and is seeking Medical Technologists and Medical Lab Technologists to join our outstanding laboratory team and assist in patient care in the fight against cancer.

Full-time Positions Available!

  • Full-time 40-hour role, consisting of 10-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

  • Full-time 40-hour role, consisting of 10-hour shifts from Tuesday to Friday, 1:00 PM - 11:00PM

  • Full-time 40-hour role, consisting of 10-hour shifts from Thursday to Tuesday, 1:00 PM - 11:00PM

Education and Certification Requirements:

  • MLS/MT: Must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in medical technology or clinical laboratory science and have obtained certification while pursuing the degree (ASCP, AMT or AAB).
  • MLT: Must have an Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology with MLT certification (ASCP, AMT or AAB)

Working under the general supervision of the Laboratory Director, the Medical Technologist conducts a range of standard and intricate laboratory tests on body fluids and substances. This role demands the exercise of independent judgment and the ability to work swiftly and precisely. The contributions of the individual(s) in this role, together with other healthcare professionals, deliver critical data for the most precise diagnosis and personalized treatment of diseases, ensuring the best possible patient outcomes.

  • Conducts routine and complex medical laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses.

  • Guarantees that all laboratory tests adhere to established standards.

  • Utilizes automated and computerized instruments, including identifying malfunctions and resolving them with suitable corrective measures.

  • Assesses Quality Control procedure outcomes and takes corrective action when necessary.

  • Determines the validity of test results, comprehends clinical implications, and informs the primary caregiver of critical test results.

  • Records and preserves the necessary documentation as mandated by the hospital and laboratory accrediting bodies.

  • Creates and updates procedure and policy manuals in line with the standards of accrediting agencies.

Minimum Education

  • MLS/MT: Must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science and have obtained certification while pursuing the degree (ASCP, AMT or AAB).

OR

  • MLT: Must have an Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology with MLT certification (ASCP, AMT or AAB)

Minimum Experience

Prefer a minimum of 2 years hospital or clinic experience.

Required Licensure/Certifications

Certification required (ASCP, AMT or AAB).

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $27.76 - $45.67 / hour
