Job Description
Thank you for your interest in employment with Louisiana Tech University.Louisiana Tech's IT Department is looking for an IT Security Analyst to protect our organization's computer networks and systems from cyber attacks. This includes monitoring networks for potential threats, installing managing software that protects from online vulnerabilities, documenting breaches and reporting issues so they can be adequately handled. It security analysts help to develop and apply existing standards and maintain computer networks. They are responsible for implementing security procedures and policies, maintaining security programs like antivirus systems and firewalls and reporting on breaches. IT security analysists often work alongside cybersecurity professionals to develop security policies that impact the entirety of an organizations network.
The role of the IT Cyber Security Analyst at Louisiana Tech University encompasses a broad array of responsibilities aimed at safeguarding the institution's digital assets and infrastructure. Reporting initially to the Chief Information Officer, the position entails maintaining a proactive stance in cyber security to fortify the University's equipment and sensitive information against potential threats. This includes the utilization of university-owned devices and leveraging cyber security software to bolster the effectiveness of the Security Operation Center (SOC). The analyst will play a crucial role in overseeing campus resources and devising systems and protocols to safeguard organizational assets. Moreover, the position involves influencing stakeholders to embrace new concepts, practices, and approaches in cyber security, thereby ensuring the resilience and integrity of Louisiana Tech University's digital ecosystem.
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in computer science or cyber security
Good verbal and written communication skills
Comptia PenTest+CE-COMPTIA
Positive interaction with IT staff and the University community
Proficient knowledge in the following areas:
Cyber Defense, Linux, Microsoft Windows, Networks, Risk Assessments
Hardware and software systems and programs
Computer networks
Main Duties
Maintain the University's cyber security posture and look for ways to improve it continually.
Monitor and maintain technology to ensure maximum access
Perform other related duties as required
