Summary
The Translational Nanomedicine Research Lab in the Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Research Assistant I. Our research program aims to rapidly advance functional biomaterials, drug delivery, and bioengineering strategies through multidisciplinary approaches. A major focus of our research group is to develop technologies that can be translated to the clinic to improve patients' quality of life.
Job Duties
- Synthesize biomaterials and perform their mechanical and physicochemical characterization.
- Fabricate micro/nanoconstructs.
- Conduct in vivo pharmacokinetic studies.
- Participate in group meetings, manage day-to-day lab activities, and organize the lab.

Contribute to abstract/manuscript preparation and present findings at local and national meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in basic science or a related field.
- B.S. in Chemistry/Bioengineering/Pharmaceutical Sciences.
- Candidates must be highly motivated and should have a strong interest in biomaterials, drug delivery and drug efficacy studies.
- Experience in biomaterials synthesis and characterization will be valuable.
- The candidate should have strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills for assisting and collaborating with multidisciplinary groups of clinicians, biomedical researchers in a dynamic team environment.
