Job Description
Summary
The position is for a Research Technician to provide assistance for the establishment and propagation of 3D Organoid Core. This position is suitable for a technician who can handle multiple projects and can follow instructions to complete assignments under minimal supervision by a higher level research staff member. Technical skills include sterile technique for the maintenance and culturing of cells and bacterial communities, flow cytometry, microscopy, and RT-qPCR. A responsible and dedicated individual is required. This position will offer a unique and rewarding translational research experience in a dynamic and highly productive core facility.
Job Duties
- Establishing, validating, and maintaining organoid cultures and bacterial communities.
- Collecting, compiling, and analyzing validation results on the cultures and communities.
- Documenting and storing of cultures and communities.
- Entering data into Core database.
- Contributing to core maintenance that includes ordering supplies, general clean up, freezer cataloging, and maintaining lab equipment.
- Performing other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- No experience required.
