Biology Guest Faculty Position 2025-2026

Rank: Guest Faculty
Tenure Information: Non-Tenure Track
Job Description
Sarah Lawrence College Department of Biology seeks part-time guest faculty members to teach courses in the fall 2025 and spring 2026 semester. We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach one or two of the following courses: neurobiology, developmental biology, immunology, marine biology, entomology, human evolution. Other courses within the candidate’s area of expertise will be considered if proposed in the cover letter.

The exact format of the course will be determined in consultation with the successful candidate.  Seminar courses are typically capped at 15 students and include a seminar class (meeting 2x/week) and biweekly meetings with individual students to develop a semester-long independent project—conference work—which usually takes the form of a substantial literature review.  Lecture courses, capped at 45 students, meet 2x/week but include group rather than individual biweekly conferences.

Application materials must include: CV, cover letter indicating your background experience and your preferred courses, a description of the proposed course(s); and three letters of recommendation.
