Temporary Laboratory Technician - Freeman Lab

Position Overview and Responsibilities
The Freeman Lab is looking for a Summer Research Intern. This internship in the Genes & Human Disease Research Program will provide a motivated student with the opportunity to assist with research studies directed towards understanding the mechanisms of DNA methylation and telomere shortening associated with aging.
Duties may include performing a variety of cell culture and molecular biology techniques, extraction, analysis, and presentation of data.
Minimum Qualifications

• Excellent organizational skills.
• Must be team oriented, personable, and able to deal with diverse personalities.
• Ability to take directions, follow instructions, and keep meticulous records.
• Must be reliable and self-driven with high attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills to include knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications
Entry-level position, however, individuals with previous technician experience will be considered if experience included molecular biology such as DNA purification, restriction cloning, PCR, site-directed mutagenesis, and/or RNA handling.
Work Hours
Part-time, approximately 24 hours per week, typically between the hours of 8:30AM to 5:00PM Monday through Friday.
