The successful candidate:

This is a Full-time position where you will work a 10-hr shift 4 days a week from 8:00 AM to 6:00PM - no weekends and no on call.

The Pain Management Nurse Practitioner is a provider working under the supervision of a Pain Management Physician and Interventionalist to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to our oncology patient population. This role encompasses clinical evaluation, perioperative management, patient education, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes.

  • Assists the attending physician in providing a variety of patient care activities including comprehensive pain assessments, outpatient follow up visits, daily inpatient rounds, and consults.

  • Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, prescription of medications and therapies for pain management, and evaluate effectiveness of pain management interventions. Recognizes and evaluates situations which call for immediate attention of the attending physician

  • Orders therapy treatments, diagnostic laboratory and radiological tests/procedures, as necessary

  • Obtains and records detailed and accurate medical histories

  • Acts as a liaison between nursing staff or other services and physician

  • Facilitates referral of patients to health facilities, agencies and community resources as applicable

  • Completes written documentation in line with policy

  • Establishes and maintains interpersonal relationships with patients, families, and other healthcare personnel, while assuring confidentiality of patient information

  • Participates in clinical trial enrollment and community service events as appropriate

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Nurse Practitioner (NP)

  • Georgia RN license and Georgia Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license

  • 2 years of experience working as a Nurse Practitioner in a hospital or equivalent setting, strongly preferred

  • 2 years of experience in pain management and/or oncology patient population, strongly preferred

  • DEA licensure

  • Must have an active BLS and ACLS

  • ONS certification, optional

  • AOCNP, optional

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $50.06 - $82.43 / hour
