Job Description

Job Summary
The Undergraduate Lab Assistant will provide assistance in laboratory processing of environmental field samples; identifying associated organisms; and assisting in field work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Must be a current Troy University student enrolled in at least six credit hours.
2. Fine motor skills and high attention to detail
3. Ability to work for extended periods (2-3 hrs) under a dissecting microscope with forceps

Please note: Student positions are FICA/Medicare exempt only if students are enrolled in classes in the semester work is performed. To qualify for the FICA/Medicare exemption, you must be enrolled on a half-time basis for the Fall, Spring, or Summer.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience identifying freshwater invertebrates or sorting environmental samples
2. Ecological research experience
3. Strong work ethic and positive attitude
