College/Department Information
The Medical College of Georgia (MCG) is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 304 students per class. The MCG educational experience is anchored by the main campus in Augusta, with regional clinical campuses for third- and fourth-year students across the state, and two four-year campuses located in Athens (in partnership with the University of Georgia) and in Savannah (in partnership with Georgia Southern University). MCG's expanding partnerships with physicians and hospitals across Georgia currently provide more than 350 sites where students can experience the full spectrum of medicine, from complex care hospitals to small-town solo practices. MCG and its teaching hospitals also provide postgraduate education to approximately 575 residents and fellows in 50 different Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-approved programs. Our researchers and clinicians focus on what most impacts the health of Georgia's and America's children and adults, including cardiovascular biology and disease, cancer, neurosciences and behavioral sciences, public and preventive health, regenerative and reparative medicine, personalized medicine and genomics. Our physician faculty also share their expertise with physicians and patients at about 100 clinics and hospitals statewide.
Job Summary
Duty includes development of an optimized low-dose digital X-ray based brain drug delivery system that modulates the opening-closing of blood-brain barrier and induces the improvement of intracerebral microenvironment, development of Radiological Assessment Method for Glymphatic Drainage Clearance in Alzheimer's Disease Mice Model, and Statistical characterization and biological analysis of tumor cells (VIVO/VITRO) in small animals by Iron Oxide Nanoparticles on Hyperthermia and Thermoablation study as well as combination therapy with high energy radiation. Also perform analysis of quantification of uptake of nanoparticles on tumor and tumor response by radiation therapy.
Will need specific expertise in Nanoparticle design and synthesis, MRI physics and image acquisition/reconstruction, is required. Skills, experience and knowledge in numerical computation, optimization, and machine leaning are desirable. A previous record of publications in scientific journals and experience in clinical research is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Participate in project planning and development of research protocols while ensuring adherence to accepted scientific principles and compliance with relevant guidelines.
Analyze results of experiments and procedures using MRI and, if necessary, develop special computer programs to facilitate analysis. Teach MRI to co-researcher and analysis of cell sequences in hyperthermia or thermoablationin VIVO/VITRO study for small animals as well as mid-size animals in different institution based on availability.
Analyze efficacy in the combination treatment with radiation and hyperthermia treatment and develop the protocol optimized structure of dual modalities.
Compose articles for publication in scientific journals; review articles prepared by others.
Personnel on research techniques, procedures and other technological aspects of research activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. degree from an accredited college or university.
Preferred Qualifications
Specific expertise in nanoparticle design and synthesis.
A previous record of publications in scientific journals and experience in clinical research is highly desirable.
Skills, experience and knowledge in numerical computation, optimization, and machine leaning are desirable.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Salary to be commensurate with the qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum midpoint) of the position.
